⚠️ Conseil sécurité: Keep rice balls bite-sized for toddlers (pieces no larger than ½ inch, or offer loose spoonfuls) and use no added salt. Cut the nori into small pieces so it doesn't stick to the roof of the mouth, and use pasteurized mayonnaise. Cool cooked rice within 2 hours of cooking, keep onigiri refrigerated until lunchtime, and eat cold or reheat fully to 165°F/74°C if not eaten within 2 hours, to avoid bacterial growth in the rice.

🍼 1–2 ans
Break or cut the rice ball into pieces no larger than ½ inch (about 1cm), or simply offer loose spoonfuls of rice and tuna filling rather than a shaped ball. Use no added salt (the filling has none), and crumble the nori into tiny flakes instead of a whole strip so it doesn't stick to the roof of the mouth.
🧸 2–3 ans
Make smaller triangles and cut them into bite-sized pieces before serving; use only a small piece of nori and no added salt.
🎒 3–5 ans
Serve as a small triangle for your child to hold, with no added salt, cutting it in half first time to check they chew well before swallowing.
