The Story Behind the Dish

📍 Dominican coast (Samaná and the east)📅 Traditional🐚 DO

Lambí is the Caribbean name for queen conch, a large sea snail found in the warm waters around the island. In coastal towns like Samaná and Boca Chica it's stewed, served in salads or added to rice.

Conch is tough, so it's always pounded and boiled before stewing.

⭐ Why It's Famous

Sweet, slightly chewy seafood in a rich sofrito sauce: it's a taste of the Dominican seaside.

💡 Fun Fact

Conch fishing is regulated in the Caribbean to protect the species, so check that your conch comes from a sustainable source.
